Making our meal service come to life
We’re making improvements to our food service and dining experience at Tenterfield Care.
Residents have been enjoying using the beautiful new country-style dining room at Haddington. Complete with new dining ware and furniture, it’s a welcoming space for residents to catch up with their neighbours or family at mealtimes.
New dining room furniture has been ordered for Millrace where we have also reinstated a fully functional catering kitchen. Catering staff continue to be trained by our Executive Chef Consultant.
New software, called Simple Foods, is also improving mealtimes. The system enhances the meal ordering experience for residents who review images of the choices on offer and select the meal that appeals to them.
Importantly, it ensures staff are up to date with residents’ changing meal preferences and diet requirements by automating the management of allergens, texture modifications and particular likes and dislikes.
The Catering team is also reaping the benefits with easier planning, preparation and personalisation of food options. This ensures they can provide residents with quality meals while also meeting food safety and compliance requirements.
Residents in both households now also have access to a 24-hr snack station. We look forward to expanding the range of drinks and snacks on offer over the coming weeks.
