We’re walking for wellness
Aah, a spot of sunshine and stories shared! There is nothing better than a stroll around the garden with friends.
Millrace residents enjoy their regular walks around our beautiful community and the gardens, where they enjoy the fresh air while admiring the flowers and catching up on each other’s latest news. Some residents even enjoy challenging themselves with a longer route.
Resident Mary says she loves going for walks. “It’s lovely to be out and enjoying the fresh air. And I get to see all the nice gardens and lovely roses,” she says.
At Tenterfield, we recognise the multiple benefits that exercise can bring to a resident’s physical and emotional wellbeing and our team plans and promotes regular exercise as well as activities that include or encourage movement.
Physiotherapist Juan says he finds great fulfilment in supporting residents to maintain their mobility, independence and overall wellbeing. “Movement keeps the body strong and the mind bright,” he says.
“Residents joining the walking group are healthy, happy and connected. It’s wonderful to see the positive impact of movement and exercise on their confidence and quality of life.”
We hope to see our walking group grow in numbers and welcome all residents to participate.
